Corporate Express Document & Print Management Division Attains SFI Certification

Broomfield, Colo. - July 1, 2008Corporate Express US Inc. announced today that four printing plants in its Document & Print Management division have been independently audited and certified to the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) chain-of-custody standard. This certification verifies Corporate Express’ capability to print custom multi-part and stock forms, roll and cut sheet printing jobs, bindery projects such as booklets and bound documents, notepads and other paper items in accordance with SFI standards.

Corporate Express US Inc., part of the Dutch-based Corporate Express NV (NYSE: CXP), is a leading business-to-business supplier of office and computer supplies, office furniture, facility supplies, document and print management, imaging and computer graphic supplies, promotional products and other similar products. The company’s Document & Print Management division is a leading provider of print management and business form, label, direct mail and fulfillment solutions.

The SFI chain-of-custody certification is the process of tracking and recording the possession and transfer of wood and fiber from the forest of origin through the different stages of production -- including primary manufacturing, secondary manufacturing, wholesaling and retailing -- through to the end user. Materials that are printed in accordance with the SFI standard will display the SFI product logo.

"We are pleased to add the Sustainable Forestry Initiative certification to our chain-of-custody print service offering," said Jay Mutschler, president of Corporate Express US. "This is an important way that we as a company continue to support responsible forest management worldwide while also providing our customers with products and services that support their efforts to minimize environmental impact."

Corporate Express supports all credible third-party forest certification standards that encourage responsible forest management globally. As part of continued efforts to provide chain-of-custody certified printing services to its customers, four of the company’s printing plants in its Document & Print Management division recently attained certification to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) chain-of-custody standard.

In 2008, Corporate Express chose FSC-certified, thirty percent post-consumer recycled paper to print its flagship Office Products Sourcebook as well as several specialty catalogs, including their government, IRS, diversity, school supplies, facility products and local Alaska catalogs. 2/2 Corporate Express is the first major office products company in the U.S. to print so many catalogs in this fashion.

Corporate Express’ comprehensive U.S. Sustainability Policy outlines its efforts to reduce environmental impact through goals for facilities and distribution operations, sustainable forestry, environmentally sustainable products and social responsibility. Providing the auditing services for the SFI certification is SGS Systems and Services Certification Inc. (SSC), a wholly owned subsidiary of SGS US Testing Co, Inc. Corporate Express’ certificate number is NCS-SFICOC-136.
